June 5th, 2018 - The ranking of the worldwide ten largest automobile manufacturers shows no change within a year's time.


The market share of the top tier of two companies with market shares of 10% and more loses from 22.0% to 21.5%.

The group of automakers with 5% to below 10% market share loses clearly. Its market share drops from 40.1% to 34.5% within a year's time. Only Nissan is able to gain market share. Fiat falls back into the group of world market leaders with fewer than 5% market share.


The group of the worldwide ten largest automakers with fewer than 5% market share more than doubles its market share in a year's time from 6.6% to 11.8%. This is mainly caused by Fiat's advent. Renault rises slightly its market share in year's time.


Despite a growing global auto production from 2015 to 2016 by 4.6% the market share of the ten largest automakers decreased  from 68.7% to 67.8%.
