The energy saving motors of the DR-motor series do not only match all efficiency requirements of the international standard IEC 60034-30 but contribute also considerably to a positive energy balance.
So for example an energy saving motor DRE (IE2) saves annually about 520 € compared with a standard motor DRS (IE1) with a performance of 110 kW taking only 13 months to amortise (supposed a period of operation with 6,000 hrs/year, electricity tariff with 0.10 €/kWh).
Mechatronic drive system MOVIGEAR®

With the mechatronic drive system MOVIGEAR® SEW-EURODRIVE, as first drive manufacturer, has succeeded in identifying the trend to mechatronics at an early stage offering standard products for the horizontal conveyer on the market.
At the end of 2009 Coca Cola HBC Austria could reduce the energy consumption by 75% compared with the previous used drive and control technologies modernising the transportation line 2a, which connects the bottling plant with the palletizing system.
Frequency converters MOVIDRIVE®/MOVITRAC®

The use of the frequency converters MOVIDRIVE® or MOVITRAC® permits an according to requirement and energy efficient closed-loop control of the processes by the stepless closed-loop control of speed and torque.
In addition it is possible to virtually recycle the freed energy by the use of a regenerative unit or by the intelligent DC link coupling of the frequency converters with stacker cranes and hoists.
By changing from a braking resistor to the regenerating unit MDR of MOVIDRIVE® the energy consumption e.g. of a lifting unit, used for the downward transport of palletized crates, could be reduced by 88% or by 780 € per year.
